Next Winter Styling Competition

Wednesday, 31 October 2012

This post is my entry for Amy Antoinette's Next Winter Wardrobe competition. I have to create three winter outfits using Next's own brand fashion collections. I was immediately drawn to this competition because i love putting together outfits and I think Next have some really nice pieces. They have great fashion and cater for all trends at good reasonable prices.
Find out details on how to enter here. The deadline is 3pm November 2nd 2012.

Below are my three outfits.

1. Shopping Trip
Black Satchel Handbag £30
Fairisle Jumper £20
Cable Knit Hat and Scarf £18
Plum Skinny Jeans £28
Black Quilted Biker Long Boots £85

The first outfit is perfect for a shopping trip, the grey jumper is on trend with the seasonal fairisle print teamed with the plum skinny jeans creates a Autumnal/Winter feel to the outfit, because when I see plum based colours I immediately associate it with this time of the year. Next I added a cream cable knit hat and scarf to add warmth and a snug feel, because winter is all above layers and wrapping up. For the footwear I decided on the quilted black biker boots as they look sturdy for damp weather and the quilted design provides a soft warmth feel. Lastly to finish off the outfit I chose the black satchel because it is a all rounder piece and can be used with many outfits and many seasons.

Night Out

Embellished Collar Blouse £28
Leather Look PU Skinny Trousers £35
Leopard Print Faux Fur jacket £85
Black Studded Microsuede Wedges £55
Glass Bead Clutch £35

Second outfit is for a winter night out. To start of the outfit I have selected leather look trousers and a embellished collar pink blouse. I have chosen these as the blouse is really on trend with the embellished collar and the leather trousers add a sexy rock edge. Next up I have black suede wedges that have studded detail on the back, this is to add glamour and the wedge boot is more practical for a winter night out as it is more sturdy and warmer for the feet. Then I have chosen a clutch bag that has similar beading design to the wedges just to tie the outfit together. Lastly to finish the outfit off, I have chosen a faux fur jacket as this is a ultimate winter choice to stay warm on cold winter nights.

For the third outfit I have chosen to style a winter bedtime outfit as I love bedwear and winter pj's are the best. I have picked the floral print pj as they are long bottoms to stay warm on cold nights but matched with a vest top so you don't burn up in the night. The fox sweater is to slip on to stay warm whilst lounging around. To keep the feet and most importantly those toes warm I have picked some knitted boot slippers, they are cute, practical and warm.
