Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream || Review

Monday, 24 June 2013

BB creams have been around for a while now and while I liked the notion of them as I am not too fond of foundation, I found it difficult to find one suitable for me. Therefore when I was given the chance to try a new BB cream from Clarins, I jumped at the chance. I have never used any Clarins products so I didn't have any preconceieved expections.
The new Clarins BB skin Perfecting Cream is available in three shades; Light, Medium and Dark, I have pale skin so went for light. Honestly I feel the light shade is just ever so slightly dark for a true pale skin type, it was just slightly dark for my complexion but nothing that extra blending couldn't fix.

The BB Cream claims to Revitalise, Protect and Perfect, it does this through a variety of fruit and plant extracts. It uses organic kiwi extract to boosts the skin's energy, Vitamin E, white tea and succory dock to protect against pollution damage. To moisturise the skin and minimise effects of ageing, Katafray barak is used, which is a natural hydration stimulate.

When first applying the BB Cream I noticed the consistency was slightly thicker than your average BB Cream, however when in contact with the skin it is really easy to apply and blend. Due to the slightly thicker texture I feel this BB cream provides more coverage than others, in order to cover slight imperfections on the skin; redness and scarring. It is very lightweight on the skin and perfect for summer, as it even contains SPF 25.

I recently went away and decided to bring the BB Cream with me to try in a hotter climate. Whilst on holiday I never wear makeup during the day however for night time I like to have a little coverage to tone down any redness caused by the sun. I found the Clarins BB cream to be perfect, it was easy to apply, covered any redness, allowing my skin to breath and carried out protecting my skin during the evening sun with the built in SPF.

Overall I am impressed with Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream as it;
* Provides just enough coverage
* Is lightweight
* Contains SPF
*Hydrates the skin
*is Oil Free so perfect for my oily complexion
*Makes the skin appear healthier and brighter.
